Terms & Conditions

Effective 30 September 2026

Important: Valve and Andur are civilian property-security tools. They are not emergency services, professionally monitored alarm systems, or guarantees against intrusion, loss, injury, or damage.

1. Agreement to these terms

These Terms & Conditions apply when you download, install, purchase, activate, or use the Valve owner application, the Andur sensor application, valvehq.eu, and related services (together, the “Services”). By using the Services, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.

2. Who may use the Services

You must be legally able to enter into a contract in your country. You are responsible for ensuring that your use of cameras, microphones, notifications, recordings, and monitoring is lawful at every location where you install Andur.

3. Valve and Andur

Valve is the owner application used to view and control paired Andur devices. Andur turns a compatible Android phone into a sensor. Features depend on device hardware, Android permissions, power, network access, background-execution rules, and server availability.

Sound analysis is performed on the Andur phone. The Services may create security-event metadata and, when enabled, evidence photos. Live camera and microphone access begins only when requested through Valve.

The primary Valve phone may invite trusted household members to access the same home from their own phones. Invited users may receive alarms, view events and live media, and operate connected Andur devices. The primary user is responsible for choosing trusted people and removing access when it is no longer appropriate.

4. Activation keys and licence

Valve may be downloaded without charge. A paid Andur activation key grants you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use Andur on one phone at a time. You may unregister that phone and reactivate the same key on another phone. You must keep the key secure and must not sell, publish, share, reverse engineer, bypass, or misuse the activation system.

Testing keys, preview builds, and beta access may be changed or withdrawn and must not be resold.

5. Price, payment, withdrawal, and refunds

The price shown at checkout is the total price for the activation offered there unless checkout states otherwise. Payments are processed by Stripe and are also subject to Stripe’s terms. Valve does not store full payment-card details.

Nothing in these terms limits mandatory consumer rights. Any statutory withdrawal or refund right available under applicable law remains available. Where a refund is granted, the associated activation key may be disabled.

6. Acceptable use

You may use the Services only for lawful civilian property-security purposes. You must not use them to:

  • monitor people or places where you lack permission or a lawful basis;
  • harass, stalk, threaten, discriminate against, or unlawfully surveil anyone;
  • interfere with the Services, probe for vulnerabilities without written permission, distribute malware, or evade access controls;
  • send unlawful, deceptive, or abusive audio through an Andur device; or
  • depend on the Services for emergency, medical, life-safety, or other high-risk use.

7. Alerts and detection limitations

Detection is probabilistic. Alerts may be late, duplicated, missed, or incorrect. A sound label describes what a signal may resemble and is not proof that a specific event occurred. You must review the available context and must not take dangerous action solely because of an automated alert.

You are responsible for testing the installation, keeping Andur powered and connected, selecting appropriate settings, allowing required Android permissions, reviewing battery restrictions, and maintaining another way to contact emergency services.

8. Availability and updates

We may maintain, change, suspend, or discontinue all or part of the Services. Updates may be required for security, compatibility, or continued server access. Internet, mobile-data, electricity, third-party platform, and device-manufacturer failures are outside our control.

9. Privacy and security

You are responsible for the personal data you collect through the Services and for giving any notices or obtaining any permissions required by law. Keep devices physically secure, install security updates, use screen locks, protect activation keys and family invitations, and revoke phones you no longer trust or control.

No connected service can be guaranteed completely secure. If you believe an activation key, device, or account has been compromised, stop monitoring, unregister the affected phone where possible, and contact support.

10. Intellectual property

The Services, software, branding, and original content are protected by intellectual-property laws. Except for the limited right to use the Services under these terms, no ownership rights are transferred to you.

11. Suspension and termination

Access may be limited or terminated when reasonably necessary to protect users or the Services, comply with law, investigate misuse, or respond to a material breach of these terms. You may stop using the Services at any time and may unregister an Andur phone from within the app.

12. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Services are provided without a promise that they will be uninterrupted, error-free, or suitable for every property. Valve is not liable for losses caused by relying on the Services as a guaranteed alarm or emergency-response system, or by device, network, power, permission, third-party, or user-configuration failures.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including mandatory consumer protections.

13. Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated when the Services or legal requirements change. The effective date will be updated on this page. Material changes will be communicated through the website or application where reasonably possible.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Estonia, without removing any mandatory consumer protections you have under the law of your country of residence. Courts and dispute-resolution bodies with mandatory jurisdiction remain available to you.

15. Contact

Questions about these terms or the Services may be sent to support@valvehq.eu.
